This is one of my favorite Elton's albums. It is dark, it is special and I wish there was more song. It would be great if this album was double like GYBR with many songs like Madman and Indian Sunset which have very dark and complex melodies.

1. Tiny Dancer *****
2. Levon ****1/2
3. Razor Face ***
4. Madman Across The Water *****
5. Indian Sunset *****
6. Holiday Inn ***1/2
7. Rotten Peaches ****
8. All The Nasties ****
9. Goodbye ***

I really love this album. One of my all-time favorite songs is on it. TINY DANCER. Holiday Inn, Indian Sunset and Levon are other great songs. Not a boring song on this album.

It's Mad I tell you.

1. Tiny Dancer 5/10-Never found a place for it in my heart.
2. Levon 10/10-Beautifully done masterpiece.
3. Razor Face 8/10-I like it.
4. Madman Across The Water 5/10-It's always been good, but way too slow for my liking.
5. Indian Sunset 10/10-Wow, one of Elton's most powerful works.
6. Holiday Inn 8/10-The demo is better, but I like it.
7. Rotten Peaches 8/10-Really raw and really good.
8. All The Nasties 10/10-I love the demo and the album versions.
9. Goodbye 11/10-Should have been a single, but with more piano playing like he did when he played live in 1977.
Should have been a bonus track:
10.Rock Me When He's Gone 10/10-I love the demo from the late sixties where Elton plays by himself.

1. Tiny Dancer ***** Classic. It's quite long, but it really has to be.

2. Levon **** Interesting lyrics... not so beautiful than the previous track.

3. Razor Face *** Weirdo. Not bad.

4. Madman Across The Water **** I love this song. It needed time before it grew on me.

5. Indian Sunset *** Very interesting song, but unfortunately boring as well. Lyrics are quite interesting.

6. Holiday Inn **** Hard to put critics. Maybe it's not as beautiful as it should be.

7. Rotten Peaches *** The title fools me and doesn't sound very promising, but I like this song still. Image">

8. All The Nasties *** Weird, the ending is quite cool though.

9. Goodbye ** Dark and boring. It's like Elton telling us that his music sucks so I don't really understand why some people love the song. Luckily his music doesn't suck for most of the time though. Image

Not a huge fan of this particular album, but oh well. Definitely epitomized early Elton and Bernie, but for me there's not a LOT of memorable stuff. Might have been different if I had been alive when it actually came out. I hear tell that Denim Jacket was pretty SWEET!

Tiny Dancer ***1/2 way too overplayed
Levon **** kinda too overplayed
Razor Face **1/2
Madman Across the Water ***** definitely a classic
Indian Sunset ***
Holiday Inn ***1/2
Rotten Peaches ***1/2
All the Nasties ****
Goodbye **1/2Take the wheel I think this ship is sinking...

This album opens magnificently with Tiny Dancer. After that, for me it's mostly downhill. I like the verses of Levon, but find the chorus irritatingly repetitive. Madman (the song) always sounded to me like a contrived attempt to be "arty". I appreciated this song more when I heard it on Live In Australia, where the orchestra seems to give it something it needed. the much-lauded Indian Sunset has some nice portions, but to me it seems to ramble and go on too long.
I was quite disappointed with this album on its release, and immensely relieved when Honky Chateau made me realise he had plenty of good albums in him yet.
