Right, but my only other option is to not ever have a chance to buy a copy, having no access to any record stores. Bought one from Canada, conversion to USD came to $48.
If they made enough so that supply met demand, people still wouldn't have to fight over them, and there would be no need for Ebay bidding wars well above retail, etc. No way to avoid it when you only press 4000 copies of a well-liked album for a well-known artist, and then only make it available offline, while, at the same time, publicizing it all over the internet, naming the artist in question the first "RSD legend" or whatever. So they can't really expect that people are not going to want to buy it.

I hope you didn't think I was putting blame on you. The blame, of course, lies with the people who sell online at high prices, but there are going to be those kind of opportunists with any "limited edition" release. That was the point of my earlier post; it shouldn't be limited, or at least not limited to the extent that it is.

And it just seemed a bit different to me this year anyway, since last year all of the RSD releases that I was looking for were easily available online from Amazon and other places at retail price and eligible for Amazon Prime, if I recall correctly. No idea how many of those two EJ ones were made each, but I'd also guess that there was less demand for The Thom Bell Sessions and the Bluesology one, as well as being (if I recall correctly) seemingly no advertising for them at all.

I don't have any record stores near me, I ended up getting a copy of 17-11-70+ on Ebay from a Canadian seller. Even with shipping I probably paid $15 over retail, so not complaing about that. I'd gladly pay that to NOT have to drive hours away to find a record store and then wait outside all morning with no guarantee of getting it anyway.

You must be in the U.K. Our copies in the U.S. did not have the RSD sticker on the front. Was there a download card inside? Apparently we didn't get that either (though I read the code didn't work anyway).
